Maria Friberg – Inherited Words
New photographs about time, knowledge and power, made on Fårö.
Maria Friberg holds a unique position in contemporary photography. In Inherited Words an antique book cabinet is placed in the sea off Fårö, where the waves slowly push the books into the water. The series sets nature against culture and asks what classical knowledge is worth in an age of digital consumption. Her first exhibition with the gallery.
